NFC Technology

Understanding what NFC technology is can also help you better understand the way your UTAGG works.

What is NFC?

Near Field Communication, NFC, as it is more commonly known, is a short-range wireless communication technology that allows devices to exchange data. It works in a similar manner to Bluetooth in its wireless exchange, but they differ greatly in terms of range, speed, and use. The proximity to your device ensures a secure data transfer, making it an ideal solution for our UTAGGs.

How Does NFC Work?

NFC works in a similar manner to RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). The chip inside your card is powered by radio waves. These radio waves create an electromagnetic field around the device, enabling the communication between other NFC-enabled devices. In close proximity, they can establish a connection, which is how your UTAGG is able to transfer information with a simple tap.
